It was one of those had-to-go-north-to-go-south kind of situations, and as we left northwest Georgia bound for Birmingham, Alabama, we found ourselves in Chattanooga, TN right around lunch time. (Tennessee again?? Weren’t we here two weeks ago?)
Thumbs up from the RV crew on this little city. Big Blue climbed the local claim-to-fame, Lookout Mountain, for what was supposed to be a grand view that included no less than 7 states in the distance. But with the low cloud cover that afternoon we’re guessing all we saw was… Chattanooga. But the locals were nice and the fare was good, and we would have stayed longer if we could.
Today we’re Mississippi-bound and finding that just about every day down here in the south we drive through a ripping mid-afternoon thunderstorm, with a view out the windshield that often looks like this:
They sure know how to have a good storm down here…but we stay pretty safe on the highway in this six-and-a-half ton box.
