Sidewalks crammed with delegates and media. T-shirt and button vendors on every corner. Police in riot gear with a watchful eye on it all.
It’s convention time in Denver.
The Cover America Tour arrived in the Mile High City yesterday on the eve of the chaos of the Democratic National Convention, navigating our 32-foot RV through streets already lined with roadblocks and out-of-towners.
We start the convention cycle in Denver today and end next Friday in Minneapolis with the close of the Republican National Convention. In both cities we’ll be talking health care with everyone from delegates to media to folks on the streets, highlighting many of the problems we’ve heard as we’ve traveled the country this summer and we’ll be reporting in often.
We also have generous supporters in both cities who have offered up their homes to host Cover America Tour house parties. If you have a story to share or just want to come meet the Tour crew, write to me at mbohne@consumer.org and I’ll send along more info.
We’re hitting the streets with health care questions and, of course, our video camera. More to come!
